Dr. Shawn Rubin is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the Commonwealth of Virginia. He earned his doctorate from the Center for Humanistic Studies Graduate School in Detroit (now the Michigan School of Professional Psychology in Farmington Hills) where he was mentored by Dr. Clark Moustakas, one of the founders of Humanistic Psychology and Relationship Play Therapy.

Dr. Rubin has been in private practice in Michigan and Virginia since 1998 and specializes in child play therapy and parent consultation; strengthening adolescent and parent relationships, couples and family therapy, and affirming therapy with the LGBTQ communities. He treats children, adolescents, and adults struggling with ADHD, autism and developmental delays, anxiety, depression, divorce, domestic violence, eating disorders, grief, sexual abuse, and trauma/PTSD.
